Happenings in 2017

You may have noticed that we didn't post much last year.  That's not because we didn't have things to talk about.  Quite the contrary - we had our hands full.  Let's take a look back at what happened:

A couple of significant milestones during 2016 set the tone for 2017.

And early in the year, we learned about a new addition to the family.

We did some sightseeing and had fun
Waco Mammoth Site
Witte Museum
A chilly day for a rugby match
Witte Museum
Dallas World Aquarium
Sundance Square

And celebrated LT's accomplishments at school

We wished everyone a happy birthday

He's 3!
He's 8!
You don't need to know how old I am . . .
And celebrated 10 years of being a family.

Laura made her grand entrance into the world at the end of September . . .

. . . and two weeks later, we moved into our dream home - 12 acres of land in God's country

We had to move TWO TIMES before we finally landed here, but it was worth the effort.
Halloween was the first holiday we celebrated in our new home.  We aren't in a neighborhood, so we had to go elsewhere to go trick-or-treating.

The Highlander, Pikachu, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Baby Laura - as she is called by her brothers - had a skeleton onesie for her costume.  She spent much of the evening bundled up in her stroller.
We decked out the house for Christmas,

and, in true Texas style, enjoyed BBQ for Christmas dinner.
More Christmas pictures coming soon!

Ten Years

On New Years Eve 2007, we began this blog to chronicle our remolding adventures with our recently purchased condo.

Ten years, five moves, and three children later, we are still at it.  Our focus has definitely shifted.  Remodeling efforts on the condo were completed 5 years ago.  We spend most of our time here talking about what our kiddos are up to and watching them grow.

That said, we still enjoy sharing our adventures with you.  Stick around - we have lots more to say and do!

Haven't had much of a chance to post pictures of Laura - more on that later.  In the meantime, we hope you enjoy some of our most recent pics of the little princess.

My Funny Valentine

Valentine's Day Conversation

Mom: Do you know what today is, boys?
Gabe: Valentine's Day!
LT: And it's Lee Bacon Day at school!
Gabe: But Ted, we eat bacon at home.
LT: No, Gabe.  Not bacon.  LEE Bacon, the author.
Gabe: No, Ted, we eat bacon at home, and you shouldn't eat too much.
LT: rolls eyes; ignores brother

Lee Bacon Day at school turned out to be a great success.  Ted was chosen to be part of a group of students to have lunch with Lee Bacon, and he got two signed copies of his books.  LT looked forward to the visit for weeks.  We prepped him with questions, and he decided to ask him how to become a famous author.  Apparently, he was able to ask the question but was so excited about the whole event that he didn't remember what Lee Bacon said.  He did remember that Lee Bacon was tall and funny, so I guess that's something.

Year in Review

This blog was more than a little neglected in 2016.  To make up for that, here's a slideshow of our favorite moments from the past year.  Enjoy!
