What's missing?

Take a look at the following picture. This is our kitchen in its current state. It is missing two items that were there when we moved in.

OK, it's fairly obvious that a big chunk of the linoleum is missing. Also missing is what the kitchen measure guy called the "pony height counter" (don't quote me on that name - it's been a long time since we had our kitchen measured, and between my cold and studying too much, my memory has become a bit fuzzy). Ted had fun ripping it out. There's something healthy about demolition, and we all need to experience it from time to time. Right now, I think we're getting more than our fair share.

Now that the counter is gone, we have loads more space in our kitchen. Once we get the new kitchen in, we will have extended counter space with shelving beneath it in place of the odd, awkward counter. I can't wait to get the new kitchen installed!

One more note about the photo: you can also see a new addition to our home improvement tool collection, a shop vac. This has been a godsend during our current projects, making clean up a snap and saving us valuable time.
